POLYUNSATURATED FATTY ACIDS (PUFA)
PUFAs have been known and recognized by health professionals for
several years for its benefits throughout all phases of life.
PUFAs include the healthy fatty acids (omega-3, omega-6 and
omega-9) that are found in fish, eggs and certain oils etc.
PUFAs have among other things been documented to prevent
cardiovascular diseases, offer relief in joint and bone conditions
such as osteoarthritis to controlling the development of tumors and
reducing respiratory disorders.
Today's problems of illegal fishing, pollution, or the recent oil
spill in the Gulf of Mexico all pose major problem to using fish as
primary source of PUFAs.
Fluxome offers a solution to the market's need for a safe and
reliable source of vegetarian PUFA based on a renewable
resource.
We present the first commercially viable alternative source of
long chain omega 3.
Fluxome is currently developing a process for production of PUFAs
from a yeast strain, Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
Fluxome®PUFA is still under development. We are
currently researching and working hard to secure the most optimal
nutraceutical ingredient on the market.
